While Bob is well know for his legendary photography, he was also a US Naval Aviator from 1954-1958 rising to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Not only that, he flew the Grumman F9F-8 Cougar taking off and landing from aircraft carriers. On this Veterans Day – we thank you for your service, Lt. Gomel!

They wake up early in the morning to collect Yak dung. Since most of Tibet is treeless, Yak dung is dried & used as fuel for fires. They also milk the Yaks, cook the meals & raise the children.
